I built this after searching for solutions.
Before Cadeenz was an app, it was how I got through my own workday. This is the story of how I built Cadeenz. From me, Tolu, the founder.

Before Cadeenz was an app, it was how I got through my own workday. This is the story of how I built Cadeenz. From me, Tolu, the founder.
I used to sit for hours without moving. Long stretches of work, one more task before standing up, lunch at the desk. It felt productive. Then an ache started in my lower back and progressed to my legs. I felt the pain occasionally until one day I felt a sudden sharp pain and sitting, standing, walking and even sleeping hurt really bad.
I went through multiple consultations, tests and had an MRI trying to understand what was happening. The diagnosis: a multilevel disc bulge with nerve root compressions and spinal canal stenosis. In plain language, discs in my spine were pressing on the nerves that run into my legs, and the canal that carries them had narrowed. Years of sitting too long, too still, had caught up with me.
My doctors told me to take regular breaks, and it helped, but when I got absorbed in work I usually didn't remember to stand up until the pain crept back. So I built a structure from what I learnt during consultations and physio: working in timed blocks, getting up before my body made me, and doing some stretches in between. Slowly the pain eased, then stopped. That cadence changed everything for me.
Cadeenz is that structure, made automatic. Focus timers you can rely on. Rest prompts you do not have to remember. Guided stretches (videos) you can follow easily. I built Cadeenz to help me and others manage our workdays and so that nobody else has to learn the hard way like I did.
I could not stop working. So I had to change how I worked. Cadeenz is that change, in a mobile app.
A note on health: this is my personal story, not medical advice. Cadeenz encourages movement and regular breaks, but if you are in pain, unsure or have a medical condition, please see a qualified clinician.
